Chengdu Third People's Hospital recently welcomed a new "staff", a 5G logistics robot, which is also the first medicine delivery robot in a municipal public hospital.

 

 

The 5G logistics robot looks like a small refrigerator and waits for orders from the pharmacists every day. When needed, the pharmacists will input the password and put the medicine into the cabinet of the robot. Following the input, the robot starts delivering goods.

 

 

While the robot moves quickly during transport, it will automatically stop if it encounters people and make a voice to alert them to avoid a collision. How can a robot be so smart? Originally, because it is equipped with ultrasonic, laser, visitation head, optical and other sensors, thus it can automatically avoid pedestrians or obstacles. In addition, it can also be connected with the environment awareness module installed in the corridor, intersection, door, elevator and other parts in real time, to realize actions such as opening the door and taking the elevator.

 

With the formal application of 5G logistics robot, it can not only improve the accuracy and efficiency of logistics distribution, and reduce patients' waiting time for medication, but also reduce the risk of cross infection caused by manual delivery, to protect the health and safety of doctors and patients to the greatest extent.
