From March 28 to 30, The World Games Series 2025 Chengdu was held in Chengdu Eastern New Area, with three sports: boules sports, underwater sports, and life saving and four events — pétanque, freediving, finswimming, and life saving (pool). A total of 122 athletes from 28 countries and regions, including China, Italy, and Spain, participated in the tournament, with 30 gold medals awarded. The World Games Series 2025 Chengdu served as a warm-up for the upcoming TWG 2025 Chengdu. It marks an important step in Chengdu’s efforts to become a world-class host city for international sporting events, promote its “three cities, two capitals, one football market” sports brand (city of table tennis, badminton & tennis, city of Go, city of art & sport; capital of e-sport culture, capital of cycling; world-famous “golden football market”) and support the development of the “three centers and one base” strategy (centers of economic development, S&T innovation, and international exchange in western China and advanced manufacturing base in China).
