Chengdu Officially Takes Over 2025 World Games Flag

In the closing ceremony held on July 17 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA, Chengdu took over the flag of the 12th edition of the World Games and presented a wonderful "Chengdu Time" performance to the world on the spot.

The World Games is an international sports competition event founded by the International World Games Association. It was first held in 1981 and has been held every four years since then. The competition projects are mainly non-Olympic events, in addition, the host city will also hold various cultural activities and social activities, such as concerts, exhibitions, and so on. The establishment of the World Games has played a very good role in promoting the prosperity and development of world sports culture. 

 

On May 9, 2019, Chengdu was awarded the right to host the 12th World Games in 2025 at the SportAccord Convention in Gold Coast, Australia. Chengdu thus became the first city in the Chinese mainland to bid for and win the right to host the event.
