Since Beijing successfully won the bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, Chengdu has actively responded to the goal of engaging 300 million people in ice and snow sports and has ushered in rapid development. With the outstanding performance of Gu Ailing, Su Yiming, and other young athletes in the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, ice and snow sports have become more and more popular among Chengdu people.
In fact, Chengdu's ice and snow sports have made great strides in the past two years. As of last year, there were 11 skating rinks and five ski resorts (including three dry ski resorts) in Chengdu. Nearly one million people go to these ice and snow sports fields every year.

As a park city at the foot of snow-capped mountains, Chengdu is about 100 kilometers away from Xiling Snow Mountain. With the development of winter sports in Chengdu, Xiling Snow Mountain has developed a famous ski resort, which can accommodate 2000 people to ski at the same time. The Xiling Snow Mountain Ski Resort was also on the list of the first batch of the country's top 12 national ski resorts released by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
In the meantime, Gu Ailing, Su Yiming and other athletes had previously trained in Chengdu JF Dry Ski Four Season Resort, the largest dry ski resort in southwest China. Since 2017, it has become the training base of the national ski team.
Although located in the south, Chengdu has become the main site for the off-season training of winter sports in China, which will inevitably promote the development of local ice and snow sports.
