In order to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico and deepen the friendship between Chengdu and Zapopan—a city located in the Mexican state of Jalisco, a spectacular light show debuted at the twin towers of the Tianfu International Financial Center at 7 pm on Monday, February 14.

 

 

Chengdu established a friendly and cooperative relation with Zapopan in October 2015. Over the past seven years, the two cities have had a series of friendly exchanges and cooperation in the fields of culture, education, economy, and trade.

 

The twin towers were illuminated with words of good wishes in Chinese and Spanish, such as "Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Mexico" and "Long live the friendship between Chengdu and Zapopan" on the surface of the buildings. The colors of the two countries' national flags were also displayed on the towers, lighting up the night sky. The splendid light show in Chengdu sends a congratulatory gift for the 50th anniversary and once again highlights the profound friendship between the two cities.

 

 

This is the first time that friendship cities in China and Mexico celebrated the anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries with light shows, involving hundreds of millions of people of the two countries.
