Chengdu and other emerging first-tier cities in China have become the most popular destinations among fresh graduates seeking jobs, according to China Youth Daily.

Emerging first-tier cities refer to those most likely to become "first-tier cities" in the future and developing second-tier cities such as Chengdu, Hangzhou, Chongqing and Tianjin.

 

About 35.8 percent of 1,225 new college graduates interviewed said they would like to work in emerging first-tier cities. In comparison, 28.8 percent of them preferred to work in first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai.
