On August 4, the “Smart Bus with Smart Future” event was held in Chengdu Future Science and Technology City, marking the commencement of Chengdu’s self-driving bus demonstration scenario development project. At the event, the showcased bus, named Chengdu Futian TOD, operated without a driver, with only a safety officer overseeing operations. The initiative has inaugurated Chengdu’s first self-driving bus route. While the buses on this route are currently in the road testing phase, they are expected to serve residents in the near future.
