On July 15, QS Quacquarelli Symonds, an international institution for higher education analytics, officially released QS Best Student Cities 2026, where Chengdu made its debut, ranking 146th globally. The strong performance of two prominent representatives of Chengdu’s academic excellence, Sichuan University (324th) and the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (519th), reinforced the city’s position as an emerging academic hub in western China.
