As part of the overseas promotion plan for Chengdu tourism in 2023, GoChengdu launched a 7-day online and offline event — Celebrate Chinese New Year with Panda during the Spring Festival.

Taking advantage of social media's popularity, GoChengdu sent out a sincere invitation to the rest of the world: we are waiting for you in Chengdu in 2023!

The tweets received likes from the official accounts of the city of Jeonju, the tourist department of Ljubljana, the sports department of Gomel, the Chinese National Tourist Office in Los Angeles, the Chinese Cultural Center in Madrid and the Confucius Institute in Montpellier.

With the help of the Chengdu tourism overseas stations, the offline activities were held in Paris, Frankfurt, Singapore, Cape Town, Budapest, and Rome.

A panda doll at the stations greeted local residents and invited them to take part in a Chinese New Year quiz challenge. Participants were able to write lucky Chinese characters and Spring Festival couplets, share local festive customs and receive gifts from Chengdu.

Together with his family, Sun Congbin, the Chinese Consul General in Frankfurt, attended the event and expressed his desire to visit Chengdu to see the pandas and taste Chengdu cuisine.
