Recently, the “Home in Chengdu-2026 Tour” kicked off in Chongzhou. Approximately 30 foreign nationals in Chengdu visited Daoming Bamboo Village, Baita Lake, and Tianfu Liquor Village, immersing themselves in the appeal of Chengdu’s intangible cultural heritage and the wonders of its rural areas amid bamboo craftsmanship, lakeside scenery, and the aroma of traditional liquor.

During the visit, participants visited Daoming Bamboo Village, where they tried bamboo weaving techniques under the guidance of Yang Longmei, an intangible cultural heritage inheritor. They then strolled along the shores of Baita Lake, soaking in the scenic blend of mountains and waters. The group wandered through the bustling village market at Tianfu Liquor Village, the main venue of the 1st Chengdu “Rural Food and Drinks Fair” 2026, before they further explored the time-honored art of traditional brewing, a craft passed down since the Qing Dynasty, at the distillery named “Chongyang Liquor Since 1886”, where ancient fermentation pits sit.

Holding her freshly made bamboo-woven craft, Mariia, a student from the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, shared, “From bamboo to handicrafts, I truly felt the dedication and wisdom of Chinese craftsmen. This experience has deepened my understanding of Chengdu’s culture.”

The Chongzhou visit marks the first event of the “Experience Countless Wonders and Radiate with Chengdu—Home in Chengdu-2026 Tour” and the beginning of a year-long series of diverse events. Running from March to November, the program is designed to bring together culture, intangible cultural heritage, sports, and more to create distinctive new experiences for inbound tourism.
