China, Japan and the Republic of Korea have a close connection as they are geographically close, culturally connected and ever shared frequent exchanges. The last two decades have seen the three countries become important partners in promoting peace and prosperity for the international community as they start with the economic sector and have continuously carried out cooperation in fields from economy to diplomacy, culture, education, environment, etc. As a representative city lying on western China, Chengdu has been the best candidate for the trilateral cooperation.

As 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of China-ROK diplomatic relations, its bilateral cooperation will bring more opportunities. Lee Kwangho believes that Chengdu will play an increasingly critical role in the future.
