With the theme of "Stand United to Create a Better City", the 2021 Chengdu International Sister Cites Mayors Online Conference, hosted by Chengdu Municipal People's Government and organized by Chengdu Municipal Foreign Affairs Office, was convened on April 15 in Chengdu.

 

 

A total of 28 International Sister Cities (including friendly cooperative cities and cities with friendly exchanges) from 23 countries on 5 continents attended the conference. Among them, representatives of 22 cities attended online in person and representatives of 6 cities by video record.

 

The attendees shared their experience and practices in enhancing urban governance and improving the quality of life for citizens in the face of COVID-19. The measures those cities adopted include providing better urban public services, creating a stable and fair business environment, building an environment-friendly city for the benefit of the people, and developing smart city with more resilience and higher security. All attendees look forward to strengthening cooperation and communication in the future in an attempt to jointly tackle challenges and accelerate economic recovery.
