Following the seasonal schedule change in civil aviation, Shandong Airlines and Spring Airlines will both begin operating from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in addition to their current operations at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, bringing the total number of airlines operating across Chengdu’s two airports to 10. Starting March 30, round-trip direct flight service from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport to Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport will include new flights operated by Spring Airlines with the flight number prefix “9C”. The inclusion marks the entry of another new operator following the addition of Shandong Airlines flights, identified by the prefix “SC”, to the arrivals and departures at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport. Both airlines maintain operations at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport.

Currently, eight passenger airlines operate at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, which are Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, Chengdu Airlines, Tibet Airlines, Loong Airlines, and Shenzhen Airlines. With the introduction of Shandong Airlines and Spring Airlines, the number of passenger airlines at the airport will reach 10. As all of them operate at both of Chengdu’s airports, passengers who purchase tickets from them are advised to confirm in advance which airport their flight departs from to avoid delays from heading to the wrong airport.
