As beloved national treasures of China and global ambassadors of peace, giant pandas have long captured hearts around the world. Now, they’re stepping into the spotlight in a whole new way—with China’s very first panda-themed musical.

This musical delicately combines various elements of Bashu culture, such as Sichuan dialect, Sichuan folk songs, Sichuan Opera, and Zigong lantern-making and tie-dye techniques, which shine through in everything from the dialogue and music to the stage design, costumes and choreography.

Inspired by both ancient traditions and modern lifestyles of Sichuan, the show serves as a bridge between traditional Chinese culture and contemporary performing arts. It also promotes environmental consciousness, highlighting themes of sustainability and harmony between humanity and nature.

Its originality and cultural depth have gained international recognition—the production won the Best Foreign Musical Award at the 19th Daegu International Musical Festival in the Republic of Korea, one of Asia’s most prestigious musical theater events.

By blending cultural heritage with bold, contemporary artistry, this panda-themed musical isn’t just entertainment—it’s a powerful statement. It reimagines how culture, art and environmental awareness can come together on stage, creating an immersive experience that speaks to all generations.
