From August 7 to 17, a delegation comprising members from 30 countries and regions, including 24 diplomatic envoys to China, 32 consular officials, and 2 officials from Hong Kong, China in Chengdu, is visiting Chengdu, where they will gain insights into the city’s achievements in modernization, science and technology advancements, and ecological preservation following their attendance at The World Games (TWG) 2025 Chengdu Opening Ceremony on the evening of August 7. The delegation includes 6 ambassadors to China and 18 consuls general in Chengdu.

 

 

On the morning of August 7, the delegation visited Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, where the members observed the giant pandas’ daily behaviors in close proximity and learned about the breeding and conservation efforts dedicated to the species with the guidance of experts.

 

 

At Chengdu Planning Exhibition Hall, a city promotional video captivated the delegation with its futuristic technological appeal. A large-scale model, enhanced by dynamic lighting and intelligent interactive system, vividly illustrated Chengdu’s strategies for urban development, its achievements in high-quality development, and its future vision, showcasing Chengdu’s contribution to the multifaceted manifestations of Chinese modernization. Impressed by the visit, the delegation commended Chengdu’s efforts in harmonizing its millennia-old cultural heritage with smart city development.

 

 

During the delegation’s visit, Chengdu Municipal Investment Promotion Bureau and Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Economic and Information Technology delivered a Chengdu city promotion session, where they provided a comprehensive presentation on Chengdu’s investment environment and expressed their anticipation for deepened partnership and cooperation between Chengdu and countries around the world driven by the momentum of the event.

 

 

At Sichuan Aerofugia Technology Development Co., Ltd., the delegation gained insights into the company’s latest advancements in the development of low-altitude air travel scenarios, as well as its aviation products and technical innovations. Through discussions and a simulated flight experience, the delegation recognized Chengdu’s strengths in and potentials for science and technology innovation.
