In September this year, the Business School of Chengdu University welcomed the first four exchange students from its friendship city partner, the University of Palermo of Italy, and sent one outstanding student to Italy for study.

 

 

Four postgraduates in International Relations from the University of Palermo will undertake a one-semester exchange program in Business Management at Chengdu University. Chengdu University will provide them with professional internship opportunities to help them gain practical insights into the operational model of Chinese enterprises and improve their cross-cultural management capabilities. Meanwhile, one postgraduate in Business Administration from the Business School of Chengdu University will undertake a one-semester exchange program in International Relations at the University of Palermo.

 

 

Chengdu and its friendship city Palermo engaged in multiple reciprocal visits from 2023 to 2024. Facilitated by the friendship city relations between Chengdu and Palermo, Italy, it took over a year of numerous online and offline communications among governments and universities to bring this particularly valuable international exchange program to fruition. It marks a significant achievement in cultural and educational cooperation between the two cities.

 

The vibrant friendship city connections continue to enhance Chengdu’s international network of mutually beneficial partnerships. We anticipate a future where the inter-university cooperation between the two cities serves as a catalyst for broader city collaboration and enables more cooperation initiatives to take place among friendship cities.
