The Chongzhou area of the Giant Panda National Park in Sichuan Province has released infrared camera footage of some of the rare animals in the park. 

 

A mother panda and her cub were filmed foraging at night, with the mother repeatedly looking back to ensure her cub was following.

 

Another panda approached a camera, sniffing and touching the lens with its paw.

 

The footage also captured pandas foraging and scent-marking. 

 

Also filmed were several young Sichuan takins.

 

The calves chased and playfully butted heads on a mountaintop, while two adults were seen fighting in the forest. 

 

Chongzhou is an important habitat for giant pandas and other rare wildlife.

 

Twelve infrared cameras covering elevations from 2-thousand-1-hundred to 3-thousand meters are documenting wildlife activity across the area.
