Want to travel directly from Chunxi Road to Sanxingdui or Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding? Want to experience the popular “Sightseeing Bus” or “Li Bai Bus”?
Bookmark this guide to Chengdu’s “Fun Ride” buses!
The routes fall into four main categories, covering city sightseeing, themed experiences, suburban leisure, and direct access to tourist attractions.
Chengdu Sightseeing Routes: A Top Choice for First-Time Visitors
Tea Break Bus: The bus operates in both daytime and nighttime modes, with a new theme introduced each month and stops connecting Chengdu’s major commercial districts.

Brocade City Night Tour: Vintage trams accompanied by professional onboard guides take visitors from the gray bricks and tiles of Kuanzhai Alley to the captivating nightscape of Anshun Covered Bridge, offering an introduction to Chengdu’s millennia-old vibrant urban life.

Themed Double-Decker Bus: The bus is equipped with a panoramic sunroof and staffed with onboard guides. Chengdu Sightseeing Route No. 3 allows unlimited rides on the same route for three consecutive days.
Themed Buses: An Immersive Taste of Sichuan
Hot Pot Bus: Passengers can enjoy authentic Sichuan hot pot while appreciating Chengdu’s nighttime cityscape.

Journey of Poetry: The bus turns into a mobile poetry gallery where a performer dressed as Du Fu joins passengers in playing Feihualing, an ancient Chinese poetry game. It offers passengers an immersive experience of Sichuan’s rich literary heritage.

Quyi (Traditional Folk Arts) Bus: A mobile theater is brought into the bus, featuring performances of “Jinqianban” (Sichuan oral performing art) and Sichuan “Qingyin” (local folk music). It allows passengers to experience Sichuan’s intangible cultural heritage up close.

A range of other customized themed routes such as Singing and Sightseeing Bus are also available, offering fresh and engaging experiences for young people.
Cultural Tourism and Leisure Routes: Easy Weekend Holidays to the Suburbs
Designed specifically for local residents seeking short weekend trips, these routes provide direct access to surrounding ancient towns, flower fields, and rural campsites.
Shuttle Buses to Tourist Attractions: Direct Access to Top Attractions
These routes provide direct, non-stop service to popular destinations such as Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and Sanxingdui. They eliminate the hassle of multiple transfers and leave passengers more time to see giant pandas and explore ancient heritage sites.
Four Ways to Identify an Official “Fun Ride” Bus
1. Check the Logo
Official “Fun Ride” buses display the official logo of Chengdu Public Transport Group on the front left side of the vehicle.

2. Check the Staff
Official staff provide consultation and assistance only at designated boarding points. They do not leave their assigned areas to solicit passengers on the street, nor do they promote third-party vehicles or products.

3. Check the Ticketing Platforms
There are two official ways to purchase tickets. Passengers can place an order through 趣耍巴士 (“Fun Ride Bus”) section of 成都公交 (“Chengdu Public Transport Group”) app or mini program, or scan the official QR code at the door of an official vehicle.
4. Check the Departure Frequency
During off-peak periods, regular routes operate at an interval of 15-20 minutes. During peak tourist periods, buses depart immediately once they reach their maximum capacity within 20 minutes or depart on schedule at the maximum interval even if not full.
