The Jinjiang River and Its Banks at Night

 

On 14 August, to further enrich Chengdu's nightlife and cultural tourism offerings, the "Hi-Tour" themed cruise along the Jinjiang River was officially launched. Taking the Jinjiang River as its stage and music as its connecting thread, the project weaves together the riverfront night scenery, urban stories, musical interactions and entertaining experiences into a journey along the river. It allows visitors to experience the unique cultural charm of Chengdu's nights amidst the interplay of the river breeze, the city lights and the sound of music, ushering in a new kind of night-time city tour experience.

The "Hi-Tour" themed cruise along the Jinjiang River connects a series of iconic city landmarks, including Dongmen Bridge, Shuijin Bridge, Qingling Pier, Lan Kwai Fong, Hejiang Pavilion, Anshun Covered Bridge and Jiuyan Bridge. The interplay between the riverside night scenery and on-board interactive activities transforms the cruise vessels into floating cultural showcases.

Unlike the viewing experience offered by conventional sightseeing boats, the "Hi-Cruise" themed night cruise on the Jinjiang River places greater emphasis on visitor participation. During the voyage, professional performers will work with passengers to create a joyful atmosphere on the river through song performances, interactive exchanges and open-mic sing-alongs. Visitors may choose to join in the interactive activities or simply sit back and admire the night-time views of the river, savouring Chengdu's laid-back nightlife in a relaxed and natural atmosphere. At the same time, the performers will weave stories around the city's landmarks along the route, introducing the development of the Jinjiang water system, the culture of its bridges and the historical memories of the riverbanks. This allows visitors not only to enjoy the night-time views of the Jinjiang and take part in musical activities, but also to gain a deeper understanding of Chengdu's millennia-old culture centred on the Jinjiang waterways.
