To further enhance services for passengers transferring via Chengdu, Sichuan Airlines has expanded the coverage of its through-ticketing service for transfers from domestic to international flights. Effective as of today, a policy now allows passengers traveling on flights operated by Sichuan Airlines from 22 domestic cities and transferring via Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to one of the four international destinations—Cairo, Madrid, Rome, or Melbourne—to obtain boarding passes for both legs at their domestic departure airport (currently unavailable for flights from Guangzhou to Melbourne) and have their luggage checked through to their final destination without the need for baggage claim and rechecking at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. The policy aims to ensure a seamless travel experience with through-checked luggage on a single air ticket.

Previously, the service has already been introduced for domestic air routes from 19 cities—Beijing (Beijing Capital International Airport), Wenzhou, Changsha, Nanjing, Kunming, Guangzhou, Shanghai (Shanghai Pudong International Airport), Jinan, Taiyuan, Yinchuan, Ningbo, Xi’an, Guiyang, Xining, Liuzhou, Xuzhou, Xiahe, Linfen, and Changzhou. Recently, Sichuan Airlines has further expanded the service to cover three new airports in Daocheng, Changde, and Haikou. With the addition, Sichuan Airlines’ through-ticketing service for transfers from domestic to international flights now covers a total of 22 cities in China.

Sichuan Airlines advises transfer passengers that, to ensure a smooth connection, the scheduled interval between the arriving domestic flight and the departing international flight must be no less than 110 minutes. If the arrival of the domestic flight and the departure of the international flight fall on different calendar days, passengers may still enjoy the through-ticketing service provided that the scheduled departure time of the international flight is no later than 23:59 on the following day.

Additionally, Sichuan Airlines has optimized its through-ticketing service for both “international-to-domestic” and “international-to-international” transfers. Passengers traveling on flights operated by Sichuan Airlines from 16 international departure cities, including Melbourne, Istanbul, Rome, Cairo, and Ho Chi Minh City, and transferring via Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to domestic airports can have their luggage checked through. Meanwhile, for the “international-to-international” through-ticketing service, passengers traveling on any international or regional flights operated by Sichuan Airlines (excluding temporarily chartered flights) and transferring via Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to other international or regional airports can enjoy the same convenience of its through-ticketing service.
