Etihad Airways recently announced the launch of flights to Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and other cities starting October this year. This marks the return of direct flights from Chengdu to Abu Dhabi after six years of suspension.

The resumption of Chengdu-Abu Dhabi route is scheduled for March 5, 2027. Four weekly flights will be operated using Etihad Airways’ Boeing 787-9 wide-body aircraft, configured with 28 business-class seats and 262 economy-class seats.
At present, Chengdu has launched direct flights to Dubai, Doha, and Cairo. The launch of direct flights to Abu Dhabi will add another shortcut from Chengdu to the Middle East. Based on the previous flight schedule, the direct flight time from Chengdu to Abu Dhabi is approximately eight hours.
Spring Airlines to Increase Direct Flights from Chengdu to Phuket This International Workers’ Day Holiday

From April 29 to May 10, Spring Airlines will increase direct flights from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport to Phuket. Following the adjustment, the airlines will operate four weekly flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Two flights will be operated during the International Workers’ Day holiday. The outbound flight 9C8619 is scheduled to depart from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 19:25 and arrive at Phuket at 22:20 local time. The return flight 9C8620 is scheduled to depart from Phuket at 9:05 local time and arrive at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 14:10.
