On March 10, Sichuan Airlines announced via its official Weibo account the suspension of its direct flights from Chengdu to Dubai. On March 9, the airline had released its international and regional flight schedule for April, which indicated that direct flights from Chengdu to Dubai would operate daily.

In the announcement, Sichuan Airlines stated that its flights to Dubai have been suspended as conditions for the normal operation of the Dubai route have been temporarily compromised due to the recent situation in the Middle East and related airspace restrictions in the region. To minimize the impact on passengers, Sichuan Airlines will offer affected passengers free rescheduling options and assist them in rebooking with partner airlines, such as Air China, China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines, and Hainan Airlines.

Since March, Chengdu-Dubai direct round-trip flights have been suspended. On March 6, Sichuan Airlines announced its international and regional flight schedule for April. According to the announcement, the frequency of direct flights from Chengdu to Cairo operated by Sichuan Airlines would be reduced in April from six flights per week to four; the frequency of direct flights from Chengdu to Istanbul would remain at four flights per week; and the frequency of direct flights from Chengdu to Dubai would be increased from six flights per week to daily service.

Currently, Chengdu has four direct passenger air routes to the Middle East. In addition to flights to Dubai, direct flights from Chengdu to Cairo and Istanbul are gradually resuming as scheduled. However, the direct air route from Chengdu to Doha operated by Qatar Airways has no scheduled flights available before April 1.
