Starting January 1, 2026, Sichuan Airlines, in collaboration with Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU), Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU), and SF Express, has introduced a free service for luggage transfer between the two airports.

The luggage transfer service is launched for passengers transferring between domestic flights at CTU and international flights at TFU. It operates under a clearly defined schedule and applies to specific service scenarios.

Shuangliu (CTU) to Tianfu (TFU)
Passengers who arrive at CTU on domestic flights scheduled to land by 17:00 and plan to transfer to international flights that depart from TFU after 23:00 may complete their luggage delivery procedures at the SF Express service counter or Hive Box lockers located in the arrival hall of CTU Terminal 1.

Tianfu (TFU) to Shuangliu (CTU)
Passengers who arrive at TFU on international flights by 07:00 and plan to transfer to domestic flights that depart from CTU after 13:00 may store their luggage at Hive Box lockers located in the international arrival exit of TFU Terminal 1.

The service, covering 28 arrival flights at CTU, 31 departure flights at CTU, and 9 international flights at TFU, is capable of supporting luggage transfers for nearly 660 flights weekly. Passengers can enjoy free luggage delivery by simply completing three steps—Store, Deliver, Collect—on the “U裹智行” (“U Package Smart Travel”) mini program. Dedicated vehicles of SF Express will deliver luggage on a fixed schedule: Luggage at CTU is collected for delivery to TFU at 18:00, and luggage is transferred from TFU to CTU at 09:00. They ensure passengers’ luggage arrives in sync with their flights.

Sichuan Airlines identifies eligible passengers through the transfer system of TravelSky Technology Limited and provides service guidance at boarding gates along with transfer service cards. Both airports have set up clear signage and designated luggage storage areas, and passengers can receive timely service alerts on the Umetrip app. On the logistics front, SF Express provides a bilingual page for booking luggage transfers, maintains real-time information updates, and handles all luggage transfers with dedicated staff and vehicles. These efforts ensure full visibility and control throughout the entire process, from luggage collection and transfer to handover.

The luggage transfer service between the two airports represents an upgraded extension of the “Easy Travel” free luggage delivery service. Launched by SF Express in partnership with CTU on July 1, 2025, the “Easy Travel” service has provided free “airport-to-door” and “door-to-airport” delivery for passengers traveling on premium business express routes to and from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and five other cities, covering Chengdu’s eight major districts/zones. As of December 2025, the service had delivered over 12,000 pieces of luggage in cooperation with more than 150 partner hotels.
