Since the beginning of this year, Chengdu Immigration Inspection Station has recorded over 1.56 million international entries and exits, a year-on-year increase of 45.8%. The top three source countries of inbound foreign visitors are Thailand, Malaysia, and Singapore, and primary visiting purposes include tourism and sightseeing, business meetings, and family/friend visits. Among them, over 540,000 foreign entries were made under unilateral visa exemptions, mutual visa exemptions, or visa-free transit policies, representing a year-on-year surge of 96%. According to the statistics of Chengdu Municipal Commerce Bureau for the first ten months of this year, the departure tax refunds processed in Chengdu increased by 253% year-on-year, the refund amount by 188%, and the sales of goods by 168%.
