Located in the western part of Chengdu Plain, Qionglai City boasts dense bamboo forests and developed bamboo industry. Its bamboo products were already exported overseas in ancient times.

 

Focusing on craftsmanship and bamboo-themed culture, the newly opened Bamboo Museum in Qionglai, Chengdu, attracts many visitors to experience the unique Sichuan bamboo culture. It serves as a window through which people see the regional cultural symbiosis with bamboo.

 

Bamboo Craftsmanship

 

The bamboo crafts area provides visitors with an opportunity to learn about the bamboo paper making techniques, as well as the history and development of bamboo weaving on porcelain. Besides, they can also experience a series of bamboo crafts such as bamboo architecture, bamboo furniture and bamboo art works, which will deepen their knowledge about China's bamboo crafts.

 

Bamboo-Themed Culture

 

The museum is styled on ancient Chinese architectures while featuring bamboo, inheriting and promoting traditional Chinese culture. In the museum, visitors also can understand bamboo's significant role in China's history from poetry, calligraphy and painting.
