Chengdu’s diverse landscapes have given rise to a wide variety of new camping experiences. Taking into account the ecological environment, supporting facilities, safety index, experiential richness, and other key factors, Chengdu Culture has introduced the Chengdu Camping Index and selected the following seven top camping destinations.

 

 

Qinglong Lake Wetland Park

Highlights: a micro-vacation at the city’s “green lung”, where nature and culture coexist

 

 

As the largest wetland park in Chengdu’s central urban area, Qinglong Lake Wetland Park is characterized by its lakes and forests. The park offers expansive lakeside lawns surrounded by lush greenery and shimmering waters, where egrets and wild ducks flutter around. Beyond camping, visitors can enjoy cycling around the lake or take a walk to explore the area’s cultural legacy.

Located in the hinterland of Qirui Valley in Shiyang Township, Dujiangyan City, the area is home to more than 2,000 dawn redwoods and the crystal-clear Heishi River winding through the landscape. It is a popular camping destination on Chengdu’s outskirts.

Xi Ling Su Ji Forest Dog Paradise redefines the traditional camping experience by creating a new vacation space for both people and their pets.

Longquan Mountain Danjingtai Tourist Area

The tourist area is a top choice for stargazing and camping in Chengdu. Nestled against Danjingtai, the Danjing Glimmer Camping Ground is built along the mountain slopes with seven levels of terraced lawns, offering sweeping views with an ideal elevation drop.

 

The scenic area features the Eye of the City Astronomical Observatory, which is equipped with professional astronomical telescopes.

 

 

“Bu’er—Bamboo Valley Wild Creek”

As one of the eighth batch of AAA-rated Linpan (traditional residence complex in western Sichuan) scenic areas in Chengdu, “Bu’er—Bamboo Valley Wild Creek”, nestled along the ecological water corridor of the Yangma River in Xinjin, offers picturesque natural scenery.

 

Centered on camping and study tours, the campsite brings together diverse experiences, including coffee, delicious cuisine, a non-powered amusement park, and airsoft games.

 

 

Yongan Lake Tourist Area

Highlights: a forest-inspired camping experience offering a natural escape for urban dwellers

 

 

Featuring a spacious open environment, the Fengzheng Square has been recognized as one of the first Sunshine Camps in Chengdu. The Giant Panda Square Camping Area is located near the lake, where painted giant panda sculptures are scattered among lush greenery.
