A recent short video showing a high-speed train arriving at an underground platform has attracted widespread attention online. This uniquely designed underground high-speed railway station is Tianfu Airport Railway Station.

 

The station featured in the video lies underground and is fully equipped with platform screen doors. Its overall design resembles that of an urban metro station.

 

 

As a city with two international airports, Chengdu stands not only as a hub city with dual-airport connectivity but also as a city where both airports are supported by high-speed railway stations and metro connections.

 

 

The two airport railway stations, Tianfu Airport Railway Station and Shuangliu Airport Railway Station, operate with frequent train services and a bus-like model. The services cover the entirety of Sichuan Province and connect to multiple cities outside the province.

 

 

Tianfu Airport Railway Station

 

 

As an intermediate station on Chengdu-Zigong-Yibin High-Speed Railway, Tianfu Airport Railway Station is located within the GTC integrated transfer hall between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of Chengdu Tianfu International Airport (TFU). Passengers can complete high-speed railway boarding procedures while enjoying access to convenient flight services, such as flight check-in and baggage check.

 

Destinations Accessible by High-Speed Railway

 

Within Sichuan Province: Yibin, Luzhou, Zigong, Ya’an, and other cities

Outside Sichuan Province: Chongqing, Guiyang, Kunming, Wuhan, Nanchang, and other cities

Fast intracity travel: fast travel to Chengdudong Railway Station in as little as 27 minutes and to Chengdunan Railway Station with a shortest travel time of 30 minutes

 

Transfer Guide

 

Upon arrival by flight: Passengers can follow the signage down to the GTC transfer hall to reach the railway station entrance.

Transfer from train to flight: Upon exiting the station, passengers will arrive at the flight check-in area on the B1 level of the GTC transfer center, where they may complete self-service check-in and baggage check for domestic flights. Passengers can proceed to Terminal 2 for domestic flights and Terminal 1 for international, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan departures.

 

 

Shuangliu Airport Railway Station

 

 

As an intermediate station on Chengdu-Guiyang High-Speed Railway, Shuangliu Airport Railway Station is located beneath Terminal 2 of Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport (CTU).

 

Destinations Accessible by High-Speed Railway

 

Within Sichuan Province: Leshan, Meishan, Deyang, Mianyang, and other cities

Outside Sichuan Province: Chongqing, Guiyang, Xi’an, and other cities

Fast intracity travel: fast travel to Chengdudong Railway Station in as little as 15 minutes and to Chengdunan Railway Station with a minimum travel time of 10 minutes.

 

Transfer Guide

 

Upon arrival at Terminal 2: Passengers can follow the signage and take the elevator down to B2 level. The railway station can be reached in approximately 10 minutes.

Upon arrival at Terminal 1: Passengers can take a free shuttle bus or walk approximately eight minutes to Terminal 2.

Transfer from train to flight: Upon exiting the station, passengers may take the elevator to the departure hall of Terminal 2 and complete check-in procedures. Free shuttle buses are available for convenient transfers between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2.

 

 

Convenient Transfers between Airports

 

Passengers who travel between Chengdu’s two airports can choose flexibly between high-speed railway, Metro Line 19, and dedicated airport shuttle services without detours.
