Recently, the first batch of 2026 rail transit urban lifestyle service scenarios has officially debuted. A variety of distinctive cultural and creative stores and first stores have opened in metro stations, while a luggage storage pilot program has been introduced at Dongjiao Memory Station and Panda Avenue Station and will be officially launched soon.

A total of 21 new stores have recently opened across the metro network, covering a wide range of offerings, such as bakeries, cafés, snack shops, convenience stores, and cultural and creative stores. They are distributed across 10 stations, including Dayuan Station, Financial City Station, and Moziqiao Station. To date, Luckin Coffee at Chengdu University of TCM & Sichuan Provincial People’s Hospital Station, convenience stores at Chengdu Zoo Station, and five other stores are among the first to open, allowing residents to experience convenience earlier during their commute.

The “First Store Economy” has emerged as a standout feature of the current urban lifestyle upgrade. “Up-and-coming brands like Panda Pastry Co., BOBO Pizza, and Glowing Planet have all chosen metro stations as their locations for the first time,” introduced a relevant official of Chengdu Rail Transit Resources Operation and Management Co., Ltd. Additionally, Andersen Bakery, Rosa Cake, BESTORE, and other well-known local brands have launched specially designed stores tailored for the metro environment. They have made effective use of the stations’ “fragmented” spaces.

By the end of the year, more than 10 additional first stores are expected to open across the Chengdu Metro network.

As Chengdu continues to grow as a popular travel destination, exploring the city with luggage in tow has become a common sight. To enhance the travel experience, Chengdu Metro has launched an innovative luggage storage pilot program. The service will first be launched on a pilot basis at two popular tourist stations, Dongjiao Memory Station and Panda Avenue Station.

Based on the pilot results, Chengdu Metro plans to gradually expand the program both inside and outside the metro stations. The service is expected to cover more stations with “high traffic, strong demand, and strong visibility”, including transportation hubs, well-known attractions, large hospitals, and popular business districts.
