To cut off the spread rapidly and effectively, and secure the health and safety of everyone in Chengdu, we provide following important tips to all foreign friends in Chengdu.

 

 

What are the new Health Code rules?

 

 

While a green code suggests that the person is “healthy” and can move around the city freely, a yellow or red code indicates that the user has a medium or high exposure risk and thus needs to self-quarantine. The yellow or red code does not necessarily mean the user has the virus, it suggests that he/she has a greater risk of infection.

 

Previously the Health Code was based on contact with confirmed COVID-19 patients, showing symptoms, or having been to a risk area. The new stricter measures, use your phone's cell signal to tell where you've been somewhere in the same “time and space” as a confirmed case, in the last 14 days. If you (or your phone) have been within 800m diameter of a confirmed case for more than 10 minutes, regardless of whether there is direct or indirect contact, your QR code will likely change to yellow. You are now a “time and space companion” (“时空伴随者” in Chinese).

 

So this is why, even if you do not live, or work in a risk area - you may have been in the cell-signal 800m, at the wrong time.

 

 

What should I do if my Health Code turns yellow?

 

 

If the status of your Tianfu Health Code turns yellow, please report to your community at once, have a nucleic acid test as required, and stay at home until you are tested negative. Also, note that not all hospitals or clinics can accept “time and space companions”. After completing 2 negative nucleic acid tests within 3 days and with an over 24-hour interval, your Health Code will automatically turn green again. Make sure that the tests are registered under the same name and passport number as your Health Code information.

Pay attention to Chengdu's COVID-19 news updates and ongoing epidemic prevention and control policies, and remain cooperative in showing health codes, checking temperatures, taking nucleic acid tests, and other epidemic prevention and control measures. Avoid gathering, follow strict personal protection measures, and maintain good habits such as washing your hands often, ventilating and disinfecting your rooms regularly, and wearing a mask and keeping a social distance when going out. Avoid going to key areas where cases have been reported recently or leaving Chengdu if not necessary.

 

If you have any abnormal symptoms such as fever, fatigue, cough, stuffy nose, runny nose, diarrhea, as well as smell and taste disorders, please report to your community at once, and go to any medical and health institution with a fever outpatient following strict personal protection measures. Please wear a mask and avoid public transport services throughout the way and faithfully report your travel and contact history within the past 14 days to the medics.
