GFCI 29 Top 40 Ranks and Ratings

The index, jointly released by the Z/Yen Group, a London-based think tank, and the Shenzhen-based China Development Institute, is a comprehensive evaluation of financial centers based on cities' business environment, human resources, infrastructure, financial sector development and reputation.

It's reported that Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Chengdu, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Tianjin, Dalian, Xi'an, Nanjing, and Wuhan ranked the top 12 financial centers in mainland China.

Chengdu's financial power and reputation have grown continually and been more widely recognized in the world since its first entry into the GFCI rankings in 2017. According to Yu Lingqu, the vice director of China Development Institute (Shenzhen), the reason why Chengdu has acheived such a big jump in the GFCI ranking is much owing to the city's increasing influence in Eurasia.
