Deep in the Minshan Mountain range, Huanglong Scenic Area is renowned for its world-class travertine landscape and distinctive wetland ecosystem. Layer upon layer of colorful pools stretches through the valleys, their waters taking on ever-changing hues as the light shifts. Snow-capped peaks, lush forests, cascading streams, waterfalls and historic temples add to the scenery. With its vast and well-preserved travertine formations and distinctive Tibetan culture, Huanglong is often celebrated as a "Fairyland on Earth" for its spectacular pools.
