Chongqing Embraces Torch 'Rong Huo' for Chengdu 2021 FISU Games

The Flame Relay for the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games made its way to Chongqing on 24 June. Following earlier stops in Beijing, Harbin, and Shenzhen, the relay began at Chongqing University with a formal ceremony.

After the flame cauldron was lit, the torch 'Rong Huo' was ignited and passed to the first torchbearer, LI Xuerui, a renowned badminton Olympic champion. With the theme song playing, Li raised the torch and initiated the Flame Relay at the Chongqing stop.

Among the torchbearers at the Chongqing stop, the youngest participant was 21-year-old LI Kunluo, a student from Chongqing University. The oldest torchbearer was 66-year-old ZHOU Xuhong, an esteemed academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE) from Chongqing University.

The next leg of the Flame Relay for the Chengdu 2021 FISU Games will take place within Sichuan Province. On 28 June, the torch will move to the city of Yibin.
