Chengdu Metro Launches Cartoon-themed Train

Lucky riders on the line 7 of the Chengdu Metro will get to share their commuting with HELLO KITTY, POCHACCO and other four familiar animated characters.

City commuters were surprised and delighted when they got on the theme train of Chengdu Metro Line 7 and found aboard the familiar characters of the classic cartoons, such as HELLO KITTY, Mikyo Frog, POCHACCO, Ahiru no Pekkle, Bad Badtz Maru, Gudetama and other animated figures.

The theme train made its debut on Dec. 15 and was hailed by metro riders who could not wait to take photos with their smart phones, claiming that the scenes made them recall the memories of their childhood.

The cartoon-themed train is to operate on the Line 7 for a month.
