The area of Guihu Lake is the major tourist attraction in Xindu District, with a mirror-like lake and numerous old-style constructions around it. Lotus flowers come out in summer when people, breathing in the scented breezes across the water, row boats on the lake. By the lake there is a museum to memorize Yang Sheng’an, local of Xindu and a famous scholar in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). The museum is a large complex featuring ancient architecture and houses quite many relics, including some manuscripts by Yang. Remaining old city walls can still be found nearby.
