Authors: Go Chengdu

Yanhuachi Park is in Chongzhou, a city with a long history and numerous cultural sites, including Confucius Temple and the shrine of Lu You.
The name of the park, Yanhuachi, literally means "Picturesque Sight by the Pond". History of the park can be traced back to the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907) and the expansion and reconstruction of the site was made later in the Song Dynasty (960 -1279).
Lu You, a Song Dynasty poet, often paid visits to the park during the period when he took an official post in Chongzhou City. The park is a national site of cultural protection and now consists of three parts: the Yanhua Pond, Lu You Temple and Confucius Temple, and its main sights include old architecture, garden designs and the shrine of Lu You.
