Hilton Chengdu Chenghua lit up a special Christmas tree Dec.3 to mark the beginning of 2019 festive season. The 7-meter Christmas tree, consisting of recycled plastic bottles, stands dazzlingly in the fountain pool in front of hotel main entrance.
"By lighting up the special tree, we aim to call for our guests' action to join us in striving to Hilton's 2030 Travel with Purpose waste goal and reduce the amount of single-use plastics at our hotel and in everyday life," said Jay He, general manager of Hilton Chengdu Chenghua, "We are committed to driving responsible travel and tourism and align our actions to UN's Sustainable Development Goals."
Starting from today until March 31, 2020, guests who choose not to use mini plastic toiletries (plastic-bottled shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion, and plastic comb, tooth brush, etc.) while staying at Hilton Chengdu Chenghua will be rewarded with extra 500 Hilton Honors points per stay. In addition, collaborating with Green Planet, the first environmental protection mini-program (online social platform) in China specializing in rewarding users' environmental actions, the hotel also launched an online lighting activity with Christmas wish making and prize raffle on the mini-program to encourage more people to join in this "no-plastic" initiative.
To celebrate the festivity, Hilton Chengdu Chenghua offers a tantalising array of delectable goodies for the holiday season featuring takeaway festive turkey, Christmas hamper and sumptuous Christmas Eve seafood buffet dinner, for guests to indulge in seasonal delicacies with loved ones.
