Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games Postponed to 2022

On 2 April, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) announced that the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games will be postponed to 2022.

On 2 April 2021, the International University Sports Federation (FISU) announced that the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games originally scheduled to be held in Chengdu in August 2021, will be postponed to 2022 due to the global COVID-19 situation and international travel restrictions at present with rescheduled dates to be agreed by relative bodies. The name, the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, and its emblem will be retained.


The decision from FISU, the Organising Committee of the Chengdu 2021 FISU World University Games, and the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) is aiming to protect the safety and health of all people involved including athletes and the citizens of Chengdu. FISU, the Organising Committee, and FUSC will continue to gear up for a successful event.
