County of Fingal is part of the Dublin Region and is also located in the province of Leinster. In 2011, the population of the county was 273, 991 making it the second most populous county in the state.

Fingal is Ireland’s primary horticultural region, producing 50% of the national vegetable output and 75% of all glasshouse crops grown in the country. Howth harbour is the biggest fishing harbour on the east coast, and the fifth largest in the country.

Dublin International Airport is located within the county, along with the headquarters of Aer Lingus and Ryanair.

The official establishment of International Sister Cities Alliance was a highlight of Chengdu International Sister Cities Week 2011. Representatives of 12 international cities, including The County of Fingal, jointly signed and implemented the alliance agreement with the aim of cementing tourism exchanges between member cities and promoting their tourism sector.
