Sister City since 2013

Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in northern Thailand. It is located 700 km north of Bangkok, among the highest mountains in the country. The city is on the Ping River, a major tributary of the Chao Phraya River.
In recent years, Chiang Mai has become an increasingly modern city and has been attracting over 5 million visitors each year, of which between 1.4 million and 2 million are foreign tourists. Chiang Mai is one of two tourist destinations in Thailand on Trip Advisor’s list of “25 Best Destinations in the World”.
Exchange activities:
In October 2009, governor of Chiang Mai attended the 10th Western China International Fair.
In March 2010, the delegation from Chengdu news media visited the government of Chiang Mai.
