City to Make 100,000 New Energy Vehicles Annually by 2020

On January 16, the First China (Chengdu) New Energy Summit Forum was convened in southeast Chengdu’s Longquanyi District.
According to data released at the forum, 1.2 million vehicles, including 8,000 new energy ones, were manufactured in the city in 2017.
To date, the registered new energy vehicles in service in the city has hit 40,000, with 296 charging stations and nearly 10,000 piles.
The city has planned to manufacture as many as 100,000 new energy vehicles a year by 2020, with an annual main business income of more than RMB100 billion.
