Chengdu Promotes Business Opportunities in Moscow-GoChengdu

Chengdu wrapped up a three-day business promotion event August 26 in Moscow.

The event, themed "Openness and Cooperation, Win-Win Opportunity for Countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt," aimed to implement the Belt and Road Initiative, further the partnership between Chengdu and Moscow, as well as invite Russian companies to invest in the inland city in southwestern China.

During the event, more than 200 representatives from the Chinese Embassy in Russia, Chengdu and Moscow municipal governments, and companies of the two cities had a talk about the business opportunities offered by the Sichuan Province's capital at a business and trade promotion conference, which gave the Russian attendees a better understanding of Chengdu's commerce, tourism, as well as convention and exhibition sector.

The event saw the presence of over 20 companies from Chengdu in the fields of cross-border commerce and foreign trade. Their representatives did an all-round survey of target products made in Russia, in hopes of expanding imports from the country. During their stay in Russia, contracts for 7 projects valued at RMB8 billion were inked, involving bio-medicine, electronic information, public facilities, culture and music, etc.

To date, non-stop air routes between Chengdu and Moscow, Irkutsk and St.Petersburg have been open.

Chengdu-Moscow Debut Flight Successful

An Airbus A330, flight number 3U609, completed the first direct flight from Chengdu to Moscow and landed in Moscow on the evening of May 2 with 289 passengers onboard after an over-8-hour journey.
