Chengdu Cements All-round Partnership with Russia

Between August 24 and 27, a Chengdu delegation headed by Mr. Fan Ruiping, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, paid a visit to Russia, to enhance exchange and expand cooperation with the country.
Mr. Fan visited Moscow and Yekaterinburg, and reached a consensus with the Russian Railways on the establishment of a representative office and a subsidiary of the company in Chengdu.
Mr. Fan had extensive and in-depth talks and came into MoUs of friendly cooperation with top government officials of Moscow and Yekaterinburg. Under the Belt and Road Initiative, both the Chinese and Russian sides will advance, in a comprehensive way, the mutual exchange and collaboration in innovation and entrepreneurship, sci-tech and tourism, etc.
By establishing friendly and cooperative relationships, Chengdu and the two Russian cities will build platforms for the communication and exchange between the companies and people of both sides. Chengdu and Moscow will work closely together for the 2019 Moscow Week to be held in Chengdu.
During Mr. Fan's stay in Russia, he also visited the Moscow Metro and had a better understanding of its network planning, operating system and cultural design, etc. And the Chengdu delegation wrapped up a business promotion event in the Russian capital. Deals for 7 projects worth RMB8 billion were signed, involving bio-medicine, electronic information, public facilities, culture and music, etc.
