Hosted by the Chengdu Municipal People's Government and undertaken by the Chengdu Municipal Bureau of Commerce, the “Chengdu Panda Asian Food Festival—Hot Pot Creative Market” kicked off on May 15 in the Tiexiang Temple Riverfront.
According to the chief of the Market, during the event, a dozen or so local established hotpot businesses will offer various benefits to local citizens and tourists, who can feast both their appetite and their eyes at the venue.
At the Creative Market venue, people can take photos with a hotpot-themed metro train painted with the patterns of the giant panda. To get all the local people involved and fully present the unique charm of Chengdu hotpot, interactive games are designed for local citizens with presents from famous hotpot restaurants.
The Tiexiang Temple Riverfront, located in the bustling Chengdu Hi-Tech Industrial Development Zone, boasts a unique charm of tradition and modernity.
As an indispensable part of Chengdu's culture, Hotpot plays an important role in local people's life. Foodies have almost become Chengdu people's tag, which is a key feature of the culinary culture of Chengdu.
"Many people from other parts of China and other countries fall in love with the city due to its food," said the chief of the Market, adding that "we hope this event can showcase the unique charm of Chengdu's culinary culture and hotpot culture."
