Holland to Deepen Cooperation with Chengdu

Mr. Henk Kamp, Minister of Economic Affairs of the Netherlands, paid a visit to Chengdu on January 29 – 30 to enhance ties with the city in new energy and explore new opportunities for mutual cooperation in other sectors.
“This is my first visit to China and the city of Chengdu,” said Mr. Kamp. He expressed that Sichuan Province has taken the lead in technological development in China, and Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, has become the largest digital media center in the country. He made the special trip to promote the mutual ties with the city due to its vast development prospect. “Chengdu and Holland have built sound relations of cooperation in recent years, and the city has become one of the most important economic and trade partners of Holland in western China. It has witnessed the fast growth in the aspects of agriculture, bioscience and health care, hi-tech system, new materials and logistics, etc. Many Dutch multinational companies have made presence and planned to expand business here,” said Mr. Kamp.
According to Mr. Kamp, Holland attaches great importance to furthering the relationship with Chengdu. He hopes that both parties could perform more in-depth technical exchanges and project development in the areas of automobile, environmental protection, clean energy and agriculture.
During his two-day trip, Mr. Kamp brought with him a high-profile business delegation whose members were from Dutch companies with strong competitive power in energy, transportation, automobile and high technology, etc. Mr. Kamp expressed that some of the companies took great interest in the city before the visit, and would like to come to the city again in the near future to explore more cooperative opportunities.
During his stay in the city, Mr. Kamp took time to experience its cultural charm and local people’s laid-back lifestyle in Wenshu Monastery and Wide and Narrow Alleys.

Chengdu, Denmark Promote Cooperation in New Energy
