Wanda Increases Investment in Chengdu

On April 3, Dalian Wanda Group and Chengdu government signed a huge deal on a 5-year investment project worth RMB102 billion (approx. US$16.44 billion) involving a series of service-oriented projects on culture, tourism, health-care, e-commerce and so on.
Cultural Tourism Project
The RMB55 billion (approx. US$8.9 billion) project will be the first mega-scale project on cultural tourism in Sichuan Province, which is scheduled to be put into operation in Dujiangyan City in northwestern Chengdu by the end of 2018.
International Medical Center
The Wanda Group plans to invest RMB10 billion (approx. US$1.62 billion) in Tianfu New Area to build a world-class medical center cooperating with the world’s most famous medical institutions.
E-commerce Technology Service Center
To meet the needs of the developing E-commerce, the Wanda Group will invest RMB3 billion (approx. US$485 million) in Shuangliu County in southern Chengdu to build a large technology service center, which will provide technology service for the city’s e-commerce companies, such as data storage and processing.
City Complexes
The Wanda Group will invest a total of RMB34 billion (approx. US$5.5 billion) to launch several large city complexes in Chengdu’s Qingyang District, Xindu District, Shuangliu County and Xinjin County.
