City’s Foreign Trade Volume Hits RMB280b in Jan-Oct

Chengdu’s total volume of imports and exports reached RMB284.66 billion (approx. US$45.91billion), outperforming all other 20 cities or autonomous prefectures in the province.
Sichuan Province’s foreign trade volume maintained a double-digit growth, and Chengdu’s total volume of imports and exports reached RMB284.66 billion (approx. US$45.91billion), outperforming all other 20 cities or autonomous prefectures in the province, according to latest data released by the Chengdu Customs on November 18.
In this year’s first ten months, Chengdu’s foreign trade volume increased by 13.8%, accounting for 79.5% of Sichuan’s total.
It’s noteworthy that the Chengdu Hi-tech Comprehensive Bonded Zone’s import-export value grew 23.9% to RMB159.73billion (approx. US$25.76billion), accounting for 44.6% of Sichuan’s total. Among the total amount of the Zone, the exports increased 20.4% to RMB91,44billion (approx. US$14.75billion), driving those of the province to increase by 7.5%, while the imports increased 28.7% to RMB68,29billon (approx. US$11.01billion), promoting those of the province to go up by 13.5%.
