2.7L Prado to Roll off Production Line in Chengdu

Sichuan Faw Toyota Motor Co., Ltd. (SFTM) announced it will be the first factory in China capable of manufacturing the model of 2.7-liter Prado by the end of this month.
This is the result of the expansion of SFTM, which began in October 2013 and involved an investment of RMB1 billion (US$160 million). The factory, located in Chengdu Economic & Technological Development Zone in eastern Chengdu, will increase to its production the capacity to make 20,000 the 2.7-liter Prado. “The home-made Prado will have the high quality up to its global standard,” said relevant officials of the factory.
SFTM is the Toyota’s first joint venture project for vehicle production in China, and its production is backed up by Toyota’s technology and standardized quality system.
