Six universities in Chengdu, the Southwest Jiaotong University, Sichuan University, Southwest Petroleum University, Chengdu University of Technology, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and Southwest University for Nationalities, won eight national science and technology awards at 2016 National Science and Technology Awards Assembly held in Beijing on Jan. 9. Two universities won the second national awards for technological invention, and six universities won the second national awards for progress in science and technology.
