The two-day Second Overseas Chinese New Media Forum (SOCNMF) took place September 5-6 in Chengdu.

The event saw more than one hundred participants from over 40 countries and regions, including representatives from overseas Chinese new media, and domestic journalists, scholars as well as leaders of Internet companies. They brainstormed ways to let the outside world have a better understanding of China and the Chinese people.
The forum is aimed to provide a platform for overseas Chinese media to express and share their perspectives, and offer advice for the convergence and development of new media as well as the cultural & creative sectors.
