The Information Office of the Chengdu city government announced ten new policies to attract, nurture, support and serve talented people, at a news conference held on February 14th, 2016.
People are first and foremost the greatest source of economic and social development, and a major driving force for the city’s innovation-oriented growth. According to the policies, top talented people, especially those who have won the Nobel Prize or other internationally-recognized awards, will receive a subsidy up to RMB50 million (approx. US$7.6 million) each, and any technical team specializing in a major national or global project RMB100 million (approx. US$15.3 million). These are the most preferential talent policies the city has already worked out.
